The College of Family Physicians of Canada
Family physicians participating in a CPSO assessment program (e.g., peer assessment, investigation) may receive CPD credits through Mainpro+: Continuing Professional Development Program of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Assessors and assessed physicians:
CPSO members who participate in a CPSO assessment may be eligible to claim six Mainpro+ certified credits via the Practice Audit/Quality Assurance form. To do so, please log in to your Mainpro+ account, click “Enter a CPD Activity” and follow these steps:
- Select Assessment Category.
- Click Certified.
- Select Practice Audit/Quality Assurance Programs from the list.
- Answer all the questions on the form.
- Click submit.
Preparation time for the assessment may also be claimed as non-certified credits by selecting Practice audit from the Assessment/Non-certified drop down list.
You may be eligible to earn additional Mainpro+ certified credits by documenting your learning using a Linking Learning to Assessment or Linking Learning to Practice exercise. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Specialists participating in a CPSO assessment program (e.g., peer assessment, investigation) may receive CPD credits through the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Assessed Physicians:
Participating in a CPSO assessment program as the physician being assessed can be claimed as a learning activity under Section 3: Feedback and improvement (3 credits per hour).
Any preparation work, such as research or reading, done in advance of the assessment can be claimed as a learning activity under Section 2: Activity Preparation (formerly known as Personal Learning Project) (2 credits per hour).
Assessors:
As an assessor participating in a CPSO assessment program, you may claim your review of this activity as Section 3: Feedback delivered. (3 credits per hour to a maximum of 15 credits per year).
